This is your opportunity to reflect on what you have learned about thinking critically and reflectively. We have explored many topics utilizing our metacognitive skills. Besides traditional lectures, you have been able to actively participate in this learning environment with open discussions, powerpoints, journals, research and many other learning methods.
In five to seven statements, describe what you feel was the most significant learning experience in this class.

I think the best thing through out philosopht has been Ethics and morals. In the last 15 weeks Ive learned more about the two than I ever thought I would. I learned about ethic and moral behavior in leadership with the power point presentation I did. As well as the ethics and morals based on workplace discrimination as well. This was interesting class full of lectures that I will carry with me on not just for the remamnder of college but into my career as well.

The best thing ive learned in this phil 250 class was the difference in how we think. after taking this class and understanding from a philosophical and religious view points allow me to understand my thought patterns from different stand points. personally i now have a better understanding for both.
The best thing I learned from this class is to think differently and to think twice about almost everything that is advertised on t.v. With the website skeptoid.com it really should me about the fallacies that go on everyday. I have sucum to many lies including the all organic cleanse with acai. I am guilty of it. But after watching the video and listening to the lectures, it has really made me become a lot more savvy as a consumer and as a person. Don't believe everything you see on t.v. or hear on the radio.

ReplyDeleteThe thing that I learned was to be more skeptical. I do not believe every thing I see or hear anyways. If it seem to good to be true it probly is.

The most important thing that I have learned while taking this class is to always think critically. One should always think before making a decision or even making a simple statement. What you say and do can always be taking out of context. Make sure everypart of you is saying what you are trying to get across.

ReplyDeleteThe most important thing I learned in Critical thinking was to aways think rationally and not to believe everything you see, hear or read. Make sure the information you have on a topic is given by reliable sources and that they have the proper data to back what they are saying. I think learning this will not only help me in my future classes here at Bryant & stratton, it will also help me in my personal and professional life.

In this class I have learned many different ways of interpreting information and different ways of looking at things. I especially learned a lot with all of the different types of lies that there were. In some cases you don’t even realize you are lying when in fact you are. This really opened my eyes to every statement that I make am I being completely honest when I say them? This was my favorite topic that we discussed.
In this class, I have learned many things. I have learned a lot about myself - including the way I think about things, and the ways I treat people. When I watch tv commercials now, I always wonder if the information about the product is actually true. And those infomercials- just forget them. I never really believed what they were selling but now I know they are lying!
ReplyDeleteAns then, there was the movie, Chocolit. I have never before paid such close attention to the moral and ethics of the characters. I'm sure this will havde an impact on all future movies i watch. Basically, I can't pick out one thing that stands out above the rest. I found every subject we learned about has effected and will continue my life and the way I think about things. Thank you so much for making this such an enjoyable and experience!

I have learned a few things like to think critically as well as different things pertaining to myself and that metacognition is utilized more than we think it is its not just a new word to some.
This being my second time in this class I have learned everything twice and I still really enjoy class. I really like the emotional intelligence because my nephews have been having a real hard time with their EI mainly due to their up and down home life with their parents. Also I like learning how to look at something or a situation and how to truly think about and think out of the box. Also I enjoyed learning how other people think like how man think with logic and women think using emotion. People are the most complex, interesting, and confusing thing in this world and trying to understand how they think is the most challenging part. With everything I have learned in this class I feel that I will be able to use critical thinking to maybe gain an edge and make it farther in my career and life.
ReplyDeleteIn this class I found a lot of the videos helpful and very useful. It was very interesting to see how different people will react in the same situation. I also found it very interesting to consider a concept before watching a film. After learning what I have learn I find myself paying closer attention to character personalities as well as different ethics, morals and values. Something I guess I have always knew but never really understood until I stopped to think about it.
